This week, Canon Claire's thoughts are turning towards Advent and Christmas and explains more about our "Light in our Darkness" service which will be held on Sunday 14th December.

Today at 11am, the annual Armistice Service will be held at the Cross of Sacrifice in Pershore Cemetery.
You are most welcome to attend.

You are also warmly invited to visit the Town's War Memorial which sits in the South Transept of our beautiful ancient Abbey Church. Please take the time to visit the Commemorative Garden and our War Horse sculpture in the Abbey Park where wreaths have also been laid.

The National 2 minute silence will be observed at 11am.

A prayer for World peace

O God of the nations,
as we look to that day when you will gather people
from north and south, east and west,
into the unity of your peaceable Kingdom,
guide with your just and gentle wisdom all who take counsel
for the nations of the world,
that all your people may spend their days in security, freedom, and peace,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

This afternoon, our Benefice schools came together

This afternoon, our Benefice schools came together to participate in our annual Armistice Service at Pershore Commemorative Garden.

Led with prayers offered by Canon Claire Lording, wreaths were duly laid on behalf of Pershore High School, Abbey Park Primary School, Holy Redeemer School, Orchard Primary School, Pinvin CofE Academy, the Royal British Legion and the Royal Naval Association.

The Exhortation was read by RBL Chairman Gerald Gregory during which the Standard was dipped and a minute of silence was held as a mark of respect to the Fallen. The service concluded with the Kohima Epitaph before a vote of thanks was given to all the children who participated.

Speaking afterwards, Canon Claire.said "This is always one of the most poignant services of Remembrance where our Benefice schools come together to participate. The wreaths will be on display at the Commemorative Garden for the next 2 weeks so that both residents and visitors can see the level of respect that our young people have. Each year the pupils of our schools are impeccable and a true credit to their schools, their parents and our community."

Charity who fundraise and support Worcestershire patients. 😇🩷

We invite you to pause with us this evening, look at the beautiful light that shines through the darkness and offer a prayer for all those living with cancer as well as those treating and caring for them. 🙏

Merciful God,
we entrust to your tender care
those who are ill or in pain,
knowing that whenever danger threatens
your everlasting arms are there to
hold them safe.
Comfort and heal them,
and restore them to health and strength;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
