Check out our resident photographer Mark’s comment below on this post from Tewkesbury Abbey. Click on their post to see it! 😀Thanks to Prime Networks, the new cameras are installed, and I now need to work out how to use them! So far, I can capture still images and I’m now working on how to save and edit videos. THE BIG NEWS IS THAT WE HAVE A NEW PAIR OF BIRDS!The new male is ringed with an orange ring marked “3HL”. The (unringed) female has different markings to Bella so she is also a newcomer.CR (aka Christopher Robin) would be 16 years old this year, having hatched in 2010 at Cheltenham. This is a really good age for a wild peregrine. Bella was his third partner after Alice ("DX" Avon gorge 2011) and another unringed female we also called Bella. The two new birds are certainly displaying the expected courtship behaviour, with the male bowing to the female, so all is looking good for this year’s breeding season. Thanks again to all the supporters of this channel for crowd funding the new cameras. So with new birds and new cameras, the future of the Tewkesbury Abbey peregrines looks bright. ... See MoreSee Less

Well if nothing else this Winter, our Spring bulbs Well if nothing else this Winter, our Spring bulbs have been well watered! 😂☔

The snowdrops are starting to go over slightly in our Churchyard but the vibrant Crocuses are out in force beside the early Daffodils, providing a welcome carpet of colour 🫶🏼🪻🌼. We took advantage of the sunshine early yesterday morning to record them.

Bulb Teas are still being served each weekend in the village hall and on Sunday 22nd February, we warmly invite you to join us for our annual Bulb Service at St Jamestge Great which will be held at 3pm.

Miracles do happen - a day with sunlight and bloom Miracles do happen - a day with sunlight and blooming crocuses around the Abbey Park and St Andrew's Garden 🫶🏼☀️🪻

We even found the floodwaters a useful tool to capture a reflection of our ancient building.

There's always a silver lining to everything but sometimes you really have to search for it! 😂

God our creator, who in the beginning commanded th God our creator,
who in the beginning
commanded the light to shine out of darkness:
we pray that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ
may dispel the darkness of ignorance and unbelief,
shine into the hearts of all your people,
and reveal the knowledge of your glory
in the face of Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

Has anyone else got over-excited little bears in t Has anyone else got over-excited little bears in their household?

The tree is up, the gifts are wrapped, wreaths are made, every day is a chocolate advent day and the smell of mince pies are drifting from the oven. In #pershoreabi's book, that equals Christmas but we are trying to explain to her that we are still in Advent and that patience is required.

Like most little bears, patience is not always a skill-set that has been mastered so we are letting her have a sneak preview of the new @thechurchofengland #twelvejoysofchristmas book

You can order your copy from Church House Publishing or follow online by downloading the Church of England Everyday Faith app onto your device. It will begin on Christmas Day and is a lovely way to spend a short time each day to remember the true spirit of Christmas 🕊️ 👑 ♰

Look out for Abi's wreath on our Victorian lamppost too as she made it herself to spread some festive cheer 🧸🎄
