This week Cannon Claire asks us to think of our young people as they await exam results, plan their futures and begin new chapters in their lives 🙏🏻

Have you ever visited our beautiful St Mary’s ch

Have you ever visited our beautiful St Mary’s church in Wick?

A medieval chapelry of St Andrew’s, Pershore, the core of St Mary’s is late Norman, with a series of 19th century restorations.

The church features a fine collection of stained glass including work by Kempe and Comper.

The village is walkable from Pershore across our ancient bridge and is the perfect summertime stroll 🫶🏻

Today on the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, we pause

Today on the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, we pause to reflect on the sacrifices so many made, the atrocities of war, the suffering of so many in the Far East and the scars that were left on both sides.

We pray for World Peace, in the continued hope that an amicable solution can be reached to put an end to today’s current conflicts. Let today be a reminder of the human cost of warfare and the devastation it leaves behind.

At 11.50 am today, Pershore & District Branch of the Royal British Legion will lay a wreath at our town War Memorial here in the Abbey before we observe the National 2 minute silence at 12 noon.

Please join us in also offering the @thechurchofengland prayer for this occasion 🙏🏻🌏 🕊️

Yesterday brought much fun here at the Abbey and a great time was had by all who attended our Summer Activity Morning ☀️😎

Among the activities were games to play, robots, caterpillars, dragonflies and boats to make, and biscuits to decorate 😋

Thank you to all who joined us and those volunteers who helped us to provide this entertainment. We are, as always, immensely grateful for all the support within our community 🙏🏻 😊

Koorschool Delft Choir Evensong which will be held from 5-6pm 🎶

Koorschool Delft, a choir school in The Netherlands will be leading a special Choral Evensong here at the Abbey.

In recent years the choir has worked with the likes of John Rutter, Bob Chilcott, Oliver Tarney and Peter Dijkstra and Ton Koopman.

We look forward to their visit and encourage everyone to attend this special occasion.

Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace;

and give them courage to face the perils that beset them;
and help them to know that nothing can separate them from your love;
